Northwoods Strings is a grassroots effort to bring string instrument instruction to the students of the Hayward and Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation school districts. Beginning in the fall of 2004 with just 14 students, the program has grown this year to involve 67 students including some from the Hayward Intermediate and Middle Schools, the Hayward Area Center for Independent Learning, the LCO Elementary School and the LCO Boys and Girls Club.
Northwoods Strings is dedicated to providing quality string instrument instruction to the youth of the greater Hayward area while fostering a commitment to individual growth, community service, and inter-cultural appreciation and cooperation.
